Healing Begins with Connection
When we've stopped experiencing genuine connection with ourselves or others around us (or maybe we don't know what that feels like, or maybe we're just stuck), it's harder to access our inner healing toolbox. It can affect our physical health, our mental wellbeing, it impacts the connections we have with people in our lives, and it diminishes our capacity to embody our authentic self in every area of our life.
Connection is an exchange of energy.
When we direct the flow of energy inward and nurture the body/mind connection, we grow our vibration.
As an integrative psychotherapist, my role is to help you tune into your mind/body connection, and to guide you towards accessing the toolbox that already exists inside of you.
My approach to developing the body.mind.spirit connection is by first connecting with you to understand who you are, what you are struggling with, and what tools we can use to help access the inner healer you already have inside of you. Yoga is a practice that provides the tools that allow us to access healing on a deeper level. Words, sounds, movement, breath, artistic expression and visualization are components of yoga that stimulate the energy flow between body/mind and allow us to witness our consciousness from a different perspective. Evidence based psychotherapy has research and data to support its efficacy, and I've seen it change and help countless of individuals to live life more freely and in alignment with themselves.
I use evidence-based psychotherapy (such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness) and elements of yoga therapy (such as Yoga Nidra, meditation, mantra, pranayama, mudra and mandala) to create a treatment plan that will help you unleash and live as your True Self.
The healing journey is an individual process: who we are, where we want to go, and the barriers that exist inside of us are particular to each and every one of us. This is also true of who we work with to guide us on this journey. You need to feel alignment and connection with not only the approach and the tools that are used, but also with the individual therapist. The therapeutic relationship is just as important as the tools, so it is important that we are a good fit. I provide individual therapy in either 60 or 90 minute increments, depending on what type of therapy we are doing, and your individualized treatment plan.
